This position will provide peer recovery support services to patients of SIU Center for Family Medicine's Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) Clinic. This position will work as an integral part of the MAR team to serve as a resource and assist patients in meeting recovery goals. 

Salary:  $20.28/hour

  • One (1) year (12 months) of "lived" (or extensive "lived") experience in sustained recovery and reentry in the area(s) of specialization inherent to the position or of work experience:

    I. Substance abuse (illicit drug or alcohol dependency)

Note: This experience may include personal experience as a parent, guardian; or a loved one you have supported through such a journey.

  • Eighteen months (18 months) of work experience comparable to the Peer Support Assistant of this series.

  • Possession of a valid and current (appropriate) State of Illinois driver's license, and proof of insurance at the time of appointment..

  • Must become a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) within six months from date of hire.
