The primary purpose of this position is to plan, manage and direct the budget management, planning and reporting activities that support the School's academic, clinical, research and service programs.

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Higher Education Administration, plus either MBA or CPA certificate; AND
  2. At least six years demonstrated experience in business administration, including not less than three years as a senior level administrator in an institution of higher education, a major state agency, or in the private sector; AND
  3. Must be knowledgeable and currently up-to-date in disciplines of governmental or higher education budgeting, including appropriation development processes; AND
  4. Readily supportable evidence of skills in planning, organizing, delegating, and resource management; AND
  5. Readily supportable evidence of understanding of and experience with computerized budgeting and data management reporting and systems; AND
  6. Evidence of the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, and evidence of interpersonal skills needed to be a successful senior institutional administrator; AND
  7. A demonstrated ability to understand and work effectively with the various interrelationships present in an academic setting; AND
  8. Must possess ability to correctly interpret policies, regulations, and guidelines; AND
  9. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
  • An advanced degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Higher Education Administration
  • Extensive experience in Higher Education financial administration or in a public/governmental budgeting administration (5-7 years).
  • Extensive budgeting responsibility in an academic medicine setting.
  • A CPA with experience in public administration and budgeting.
