The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical and administrative support to the assigned areas in the Department of Surgery. This position will coordinate and implement projects within the Department to align with overall School of Medicine goals and objectives. This position supervises and conducts the daily administrative activities of assigned areas of Front Desk and Call Center. Oversight will be provided by the Healthcare Administrator III, Assistant to the Chair and Division Chiefs of the Department of Surgery.

Salary:  $5,693.06/month

1)  Any one, or any combination, that totals 3 years from the following:

a.  college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study (60 semester hours, or an Associate's degree = 1 year; 90 semester hours = 2 years; 120 semester hours, or a Bachelor's degree = 3 years); or

b.  progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience; AND

2)  Any one of the following:

a.  12 months of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience; or

b.  College course work leading to a Master's Degree in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar area of study (36 semester hours=12 months); AND

3)  3 years of responsible administrative experience comparable to Health Care Administrator I of this series, including, but not limited to, assisting in budget and feasibility studies affecting multiple areas, or pre­paring budgets and conducting less complex feasibility and other studies for a single unit; developing and maintaining financial management or other automated systems; assem­bling data and preparing or supervising the preparation of a variety of adminis­trative reports; and supervising clerical and/or technical employees, either directly or through ap­propriate supervisors

NOTE: Candidates must meet each qualification separately, experience cannot be concurrent.

Condition of Employment:  Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
