The PBS Trainer provides training and documentation to newly hired and seasoned PBS employees. Training will include, but not limited to, Athena/IDX (CB), insurance websites, and department specific protocol. The incumbent in this position will utilize a high level of in-depth applications knowledge to provide training for each department’s needs.

Read the Position Description

1)  High school graduate or equivalent; AND
2)  Any one, or any combination, that totals 1 year from the following:

  • progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession; or
  • college course work which included Information Technology (IT), or a closely related discipline (60 semester hours, or an Associate's degree, = 1  year) ; AND

3)  Two (2) years of experience in the patient revenue cycle including, but not limited to: patient registration, eligibility verification, scheduling, referrals, and authorizations, claims billing, insurance follow up (government and non-government), denial management, coding, cash management, payment posting, customer service, and collections.

4) Two (2) years of work experience with programs such as Athena, IDX, or Centricty Business (CB)

(Note: experience in #2-4 above can run concurrent)

Condition of Employment:  Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
