This position will serve primarily as a clinical mental health therapist and assist with the Behavioral Medicine curriculum for the SIU Center for Family Medicine-Decatur and the Family Medicine Residency Program.

Read the Position Description

1)  Master's degree in Social Work; AND
2)  Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois (or eligibility for licensure)
3) Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations|
4) Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
5) Pleasant courteous professional and helpful manner is essential
6) Possess knowledge of and experience with mental and behavioral health principles, development stages thrrough the life cycle normal and abnormal development

 

  • Previous experience working effectively with physicians and other providers in primary health care settings
  • Knowledge skills and experience in providing effective counseling services
  • Experience with the use of electronic medical record systems
