The Department of Psychiatry of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to fill the position of Assistant/Associate Professor. The incumbent will cover SIU Psychiatry outpatient and inpatient clinical sites in communities such as Springfield, Taylorville and/or Jacksonville, partnering with hospitals and agencies in these communities and will also provide services to patients of the SIU Center for Family Medicine’s FQHC. The ability to provide ECT is essential. The incumbent will also be responsible for instruction of students, residents and other allied health professionals as well as participation in clinical and didactic training and establish lines of research.

1. Mus possess an MD or DO degree

2.  Must have completed 4 years of approved residency training in Psychiatry

3. Board Eligible/Board Certified in Psychiatry

4. Licensed or Elible to be Licensed to Practice in the State of Illinois

5.  Expected to achieve and maintain board cerfification within 3 years if not boarded at time of hire

6.  Must have sufficient experience in ECT to be privileged at assigned hospital -- SIU will provide training if necessary.

7. Must be willing to be trained in the provision of TMS

8.  Must have at least 3 years experience in educational administration

9.  Must have experience providing services to multicultural populations; experience dealing with underrepresteed minority populations and be sensitive to the needs of minority populations.
